THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL OF OUR CORPORATE SPONSORS!!!! We could not survive without the generosity of the public and this year was made just a little bit easier by some wonderful donations that were recently made.

SUPERPET

SuperPet's donation of kitty kuddlers definitly made them a hit with our babies right now. They also were wonderful in helping us with some additional cages and parts to fix a donated cage. This all will help us take in some additional animals that we would not have had the room to house previously!!! Thank you again so much Michael Dibas with SUPERPET!!!

PETAG

PetAg made a wonderful donation of a case of KMR as well as a case of BeneBac. We will desperately need both of these in the comming months with kitten season comming.

Thank you Judy with PETAG!!!

Thankyou for a successful 1st fund-raiser. We did not get many people but we all had alot of good food and fun! Thanks to Larry and the comedians and singers who donated their time and talent from COCONUTS NEW COMEDY CLUB
@ 2950 GULF-TO-BAY-BLVD CLWTR !!!
Looking forward to doing it again!!

OVER 3, 5 0 0 ADOPTIONS & RESCUES as of Oct.,07 and MORE on the way

-SCFS desperately needs FOSTER HOMES! We had many kittens rescued during our last few hurricanes and now we still have many rescues on hold due to lack of foster- homes and kitten season is here again. You will never know how rewarding fostering is unless you try it! We supply food, cage, litter, medical and training. SCFS also needs volunteers- DRIVERS to and from the vets in Clearwater area from Nursery Rd to Highland only 20 minutes @ 9:00 in A.M. or Pick ups at 6:00 from Highland to Nursery maybe occasional trips to Clearwater PETSMART for supplies. Also computer help and Pat surely could use a break from the phone or cleaning! Volunteer phone work- from YOUR home! We are getting rescues in so fast it's hard to keep up with photos, so please bare with us. We just got in more 5 weeks old & 3 month old kittens - with more waiting ! NEED HELP!

Volunteers needed!!

We desparately need someone to help us feed and clean at Petsmart in Clwtr mall- Mornings 8am to 9am- urgent! Its just 1 hour !

WARNING- If you did not read about the coyotes in Pinellas County- Take Heed, they are here. Another recent attack took a 14 lb cat's life right in a back yard off Belcher & Bellaire Rd. in Clearwater. Keep your small pets inside and keep a close watch on your children. They do not hunt alone and can be very formidable. Check St. Petersburg Times archives- Look up - Pinellas County Coyotes. You can than read the past articles on SOME of the attacks. They are in your area and travel as much as 35- 50 miles a day! The St. Petersburg Times wrote they will be soon howling at the moon in the Florida Keys!! Update- Recent coyote attack killing another cat off S.Highland and Nursery Rd in Clearwater. Another small dog seen killed and carried off by coyotes just off US 19. Noone is keeping official record of these attacks, MANY and MOST attacks are not even recognized OR heard about.

Who We Are

Since 1999 our small volunteer non-profit organization has been struggling to rescue as many strays from the surrounding counties as we can. We operate out of foster-homes with the love these animals deserve. We believe in spay/neutering, NOT euthanization. All our animals are altered to prevent more homeless animals and have appropriate vaccinations & medical done by our local veterinarians. 100% of all donations go directly to help the animals. We rely on donations to help us keep the organization going and could use any funding sent our way. Our future goal is to have land and a shelter facility to house and help many more of the homeless animals out there. Donated land or buildings would be wonderful. We are now officially a 501(c) (3) org. and we are hoping to widen our horizons with fund-raisers and can now offer tax-deductable donations. Right now our hearts are bigger than our wallets and any donations are desparately needed. Please make donations payable to: Second Chance for Strays, Inc. Mail to: Second Chance for Strays, Inc. PO Box 5032 Clearwater, Fl. 33758- or just click on the donate button and Thankyou, every cent counts!

Want to be a SPONSOR for a SPECIAL NEEDS pet?

Unfortunately alot of our strays need extra special medical attention and care. Right now we still owe for medical bills and always have a cat or kitten sick, injured or fighting for his life. If you decide to become a sponsor to help, we will send you the story about your special needs pet, along with a photograph and a SPECIAL CERTIFICATE of thanks. If you like, we would keep you up-dated on the well-being of your sponsor pet untill he/she finds her/his forever home. > HAPPY SUCCESS STORY

My name is Kristen. My fiancé Brian and I recently adopted two kittens in December. We wanted to send some pictures of them. We are so happy to have them in our lives! Thanks. Kristen

Many thanks from Second Chance for Strays to Kristen and her fiancé Brian for their wonderful kindness and care for these kittens and many thanks to all those wonderful people who have adopted so many cats and kittens in the past ten years that we have been rescuing cats and kittens in the Clearwater Florida and surrounding area. Without your help and support with adoptions and donations we could not have continued in our quest to save these animals from a life of disease and suffering as strays. Please continue to support us with your donations to save many more animals.
